All bodies are different. Some women are having orgasms, and simply don’t know it because of societal programming or disembodiment / lack of awareness. In other instances, it has more to do with their lover’s and the attention they are or are not getting (properly) paid. Sex in most societies is very goal-oriented and linear… that can put an extreme amount of pressure on a woman to have orgasms and women, too, can suffer from performance anxiety. The more time a woman can spend with her body–exploring it and getting to know it intimately (solo, with toys, without toys, and then with partner(s), too) the easier it will be for her to reach orgasm in bed. Also, vaginal orgasms are difficult for a lot of women. Many need clitoral stimulation or another kind of stimulation (emotional connection, etc) to reach orgasm. Penetrative intercourse just isn’t enough for some women. And that does NOT mean that there’s something wrong with the woman, contrary to popular belief.

There’s certainly a lot of pressure in the media to make anyone believe that a woman can climax everytime from penetrative sex alone.
