Have What it Takes to Tame a Big Flirt?

The Big Flirt by Tantus is a high-quality silicone butt plug best suited for enthusiastic beginners, or those with some previous experience with either anal sex, anal plugs or anal play in general.

It’s not really that big, and for a while, I was under the impression that I was actually reviewing the Little Flirt. Ha. That gives you some idea of the size. To be precise, the Big Flirt is 5.25″ tall, with an insertable length of 4.75″ and a circumference of 4.5″ (at its widest point).

Mine is a bright red, although the Big Flirt is available from Babeland in a variety of colors. It has gorgeous curves, and a rounded, tapered tip to make insertion easy. Looking at its curves is enough to get me all hot ‘n bothered and wondering about how it feels inside.

The body tapers nicely before the base flares so that your sphincter can close comfortably around the plug and hold it in place. It’s designed to be comfortable for long-term wear. And the Big Flirt is easy to sit, stand and walk with while it’s inserted… Well, for the most part.

I had a silly problem with the Big Flirt. While I adore it, it seems that it does not adore me. It kept popping out to my frustration and dismay. At first, I thought that I had maybe used too much lubricant. Too much lube can make plugs ultra-slippery!

(To get a decent size of lube, lube your anus or your partner’s, instead of the toy itself. This will help you while inserting it, but also make sure that the whole of the plug doesn’t become ridiculously slippery and difficult to keep inside.)

The next handful of times the Big Flirt and I played, I used less lube, or none at all. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to help my dilemma. It popped out again, and again, especially the more aroused I got, and the more my juices saturated the plug.

This is not my first experience of taming a wild butt plug. A little duct tape goes a long way, especially when positioned right across the ass. Make sure the strip is long, and you (or your partner) is hair-free or it will hurt like hell when you take it off (unless you’re into that kinda thing). Hee.

Bondage tape will also work, but it needs to be wrapped around the whole body to be effective in any measure, since it sticks to itself and not to you.

Again, all bodies are different. I’ve heard many a glowing review of the Big Flirt (hence my excitement to review it). Even though I found the Big Flirt didn’t have enough traction to stay in when I wanted it in, your mileage may vary.

Do a happy dance because the Big Flirt is 100% non-porous, hypo-allergenic, body-safe, pthalates-free and latex-free. It can be completely sterilized in boiling water, or by washing it in the dishwasher or with a 10% bleach solution. Warm water & soap will get you by for a quick clean-up in between the heavy-duty cleans, especially if you’re using toy covers while you play.

It’s always a good idea to use a condom over your toys… but that can be challenging with oddly-shaped toys like the Big Flirt. If you attempt to use a toy cover, make sure you tie off the condom or cover so that it doesn’t accidentally get stuck inside of you. Alternatively, do thorough clean-up after each use and sterilize the toy completely to minimize the risk of infection.

Remember that silicone toys like the Big Flirt should not be stored alongside other silicone toys. Water-based lube is the preferred lube (avoid silicone lube with silicone toys!).
