Le Réve Vibe Pipedream vibratorRemoving the Le Réve Vibe from its cardboard box and plastic packaging, I was struck with the feeling that I was looking at a mighty familiar shape, yet couldn’t quite place it in the indices of my mind. With an arc and a flare, it reminded me at first of a shoe horn (in reverse), but that wasn’t quite it.

(And to be honest, I wasn’t very enthusiastic about being fucked with a shoe horn.)

I continued to tear through my memory. Thoughts of shoe horns inevitably led me to thoughts of speculums. Closed speculums, of course. But you’ll see that it’s not exactly speculum-shaped, either.

I racked my brain for everyday household objects, and was reminded of a simple smoking pipe. Yes, a pipe. The Le Réve Vibe looks like a pipe.

But pipes are too small. I suppose scaling one might lead to something like the Le Réve Vibe.

In the middle of the night, it struck me what Le Réve Vibe really echoes. It’s a relatively obscure ritual object: a ram’s horn. Yes! Yes! I was practically leaping with joy. Identifying the shape was starting to become a maddening mystery. So, Lovelies, the Le Réve Vibe is a vibrator in the shape of a ram’s horn.

Of course, it is not fashioned from bone, but plastic. Much easier to sterilize. ABS plastic, as the Le Réve Vibe is made of, can be wiped down with isopropyl alcohol, washed with soap and warm water, or cleaned with your favorite universal sex-toy cleaner. It’s compatible with every type of lube imaginable, and waterproof, too.

The arc and tapering girth of the Le Réve Vibe make it a joy to fuck or be fucked with. Seriously. You can practically rock your way to orgasm, and the shape of the Le Réve Vibe keeps it pumping in and out of you, rhythmically, in tune with the contractions of your PC muscles and the bucking of your hips. This has to be one of the most effortless toys to fuck with on the market, and sometimes effortless is good. In this case, it is good. Very good.

Measuring on the back, from the seam of the battery compartment to the tip, you get 6.5 inches of insertable length. Battery compartment seam to tip on the shorter side of the curve? Just under 5.5 inches. Kind of a mindfuck, I know, but once it’s in your hand (or your pussy) the numbers make much, much more sense! At its widest point (closest to the controls and battery compartment), the Le Réve Vibe comes in with a girth of just under 5.5 inches. Thick. I like. At its narrowest, you still get 3.5 inches of girth to tease and tantalize.

I love the variety that this vibrator gives. You can play with the tip on its own, teasing your way to orgasm with one (or all) of the toy’s four vibration speeds, or you can opt for the full sensation of this baby, and fuck yourself into a mindless oblivion, alternating between slender and thick, slow and fast, low and high… the perfect recipe for the perfect orgasms.

The hard-plastic of the Le Réve Vibe and the firm arch of the toy makes it a perfect candidate for g-spotting. Personally, I prefer firm, strong toys for g-spotting adventures, and the Le Réve Vibe is just that. It gets me off consistently, and on most occasions, leads to squirting orgasms. I haven’t had the most earth-shattering ejaculatory orgasms of my life with this vibrator, ’cause vibrations tend to distract me from squirting, overall. Also, if I thrust it in all the way, it hits way beyond my G-spot (which most women will find one-to-three inches inside the anterior vaginal wall). However, none of that detracts from the novelty of this vibe for me. I enjoy the fact that it’s shaped so differently than my other toys, and that it lends itself to such an entertaining fucking motion.

The Le Réve Vibe is operated by two buttons on the base (opposite the tapered, insertable end). You’ll find a plus (+) and minus (-) button. Hitting the plus (+) button turns on the vibrator, at the lowest of its four speeds. While on low, the minus (-) button will power the toy off. Once on, use the plus (+) button to step-up the speed/power of the vibrations.

Once you get to the highest speed, however, you have to step-down through each of them using the minus (-) button to turn the Le Réve Vibe off, which is a bit annoying, especially if you’re amidst aftershocks and can’t take any more vibration or are trying to play discreetly and don’t want it vibrating when it’s not inside of you (’cause it’s louder then, by a lot). There is a red indicator light that tells you the Le Réve Vibe is on, if for some reason you can’t tell by the vibrations coursing through it.

I wish that Pipedream would have reversed the placement of the buttons, though. As they sit, the minus (-) button is closest to you while the Le Réve Vibe is inserted (assuming you’re going with the curve, and not against) and I don’t find myself reaching for that as much as the plus (+) button. I’ve accidentally stepped-down the vibration more than once because I hit the wrong button. Not such a biggie, but when optimally designed for easy-use, this doesn’t generally occur.

A few more thoughts? If Pipedream really wanted to make this vibe something to scream about, they would have added multi-function pulsation in addition to the varying speeds of vibration. Oh yeah, and how to turn the Le Réve Vibe into a luxury sex toy in one single step? Fashion it out of something other than ABS plastic. Steel, maybe. But that would make the price jump out of reach for so many, and this toy’s pretty thrilling just as it is.

Add something new to your collection.
